Client: Aspen Center for Environmental Studies
Goal
Now 40 years old, ACES is at an inflection point. A major nonprofit educational facility, in recent years it acquired several properties. But it lacks the operating budget to execute its vision for those facilities. Board members and staff needed a simple way to communicate the organization's vision to potential donors in order to substantially increase funding.
Creative solution
With zero budget available from the client, Take One Creative accepted this as a pro bono project. We wanted to leverage ACES's existing resources, so we combined a sit-down video interview with the veteran executive director, who was the best spokesman for the organization's vision, and still imagery from ACES's extensive photo library. With the addition of music and voice-over, the resulting product feels like a video, even though it depends heavily on still imagery. The finished product serves as an ice-breaker for individuals who are meeting with potential donors -- a short multimedia piece that captures the breadth of ACES's work, its properties, and its vision, all articulated by a charismatic leader.
