"Take One Creative is my go-to resource when I need to bring one of Rare's international projects to life, in depth. Their photos and videos are always information-rich and capture the atmosphere of locations and the emotions of people. What makes Take One so valuable as a content provider is their rare ability to excel in delivering sharp, editorial material as well as stunning, cover–quality, artistic pieces."
—David Bellard, Creative Director, Rare
Goal
Rare is an international social change organization that runs local environmental campaigns in 50 countries. Rare does not work in the U.S., and yet nearly all of its funding comes from American individuals and foundations. Effectively bringing its stories to life through print and online materials is critical to inspiring current and potential donors.
Creative solution
Take One produced a magazine-style feature article about a Rare campaign in Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary, Belize. Large, evocative photos by Jason highlight the human side of conservation—the complex cast of characters we often need to mobilize in order to save some of the world’s most important protected areas. Professional journalist Matt Jenkins accompanied Jason to Belize and delivered a moving story about Rare’s work that Take One edited and packaged for use with donors. Supplemental communications
While in Belize, Jason also produced blogs for Rare and built a large archive of images pre-determined with Rare staff, building an image library for Rare's subsequent use. The feature story also was converted into a digital magazine article, which receives high traffic on Rare’s web site.
